Check out the Melissa Martin Quartet! We've been experimenting with a scaled-back lineup of the band for smaller events, and the result have been very encouraging to say the least. These tracks were recorded live to a minidisc recorder in the sanctuary of a beautiful old church on November 18. The actual recording was very organic and lots of fun. It had a real Sun Studios vibe, what with the four of us clustered around one stereo microphone. Talk about analog: the mix and stereo pan were achieved by where you stood in relation to the mic!
